Research Area C demonstrates and quantifies the superior performance of the new concepts and techniques in practice.
We will analyse and integrate the novel data sets from space and ground in the determination of gravity field models, allowing for unprecedented accuracy and spatial resolution. The distance measurements in space provided by Research Area B will contribute the long and medium wavelengths of the Earth’s gravity field and their temporal variations. Ground-based gravimeter campaigns conducted with the instrumentation from Research Area A will provide the regional and local information on gravity and mass variations. Networks of clocks will enable the direct determination of the gravitational potential at short time scales, and at different length scales defining a new kind of height systems as part of novel geodetic reference systems.
All will be embedded in a fully relativistic framework.
